Position: R&D Scientist
Reports to: R&D Director
Reporting to this Function: R&D Department
OVERALL FUNCTION :
As a member of the R&D management you will supervise a team of research
associates, is responsible for the innovation, development, testing, and scale-up
of new products in the business area.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Focus and prioritize research projects in the field of animal health and performance and assume responsibility for their success in compliance with the Product Innovation Process.
2. Test lab-scale and pilot scale production for new products.
3. Analyze and interpret research data, reporting results as research papers and scientific reports, both internally and externally.
4. Work closely with other functional areas to ensure that new technologies are developed in an efficient and timely fashion
5. Interact with sales and technical team, along with customers, to address technical questions and provide solutions to problems
6. Provide budgetary management and planning for activities
7. Assist in the preparation of patents and other IP decisions
8. Foster an environment of open communication and creativity
9. Guide colleagues in designing experiments, interpreting results and solving analytical problems.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
1. Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, or comparable field with at least 5 years of broad experience in technology development
2. Proven track record of accomplishments in commercialization by generating and developing new ideas based on new technologies to market successfully
3. Experience as an effective project team player, leader, and motivator
4. Practical knowledge of stage-gate processes is desired
5. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese
